At present it is our aspiration to build an Ice Arena, to house skating, curling, ice hockey and anything else associated with ice. In the summer months flooring could be put down and this area could also be used for concerts, summer activities when the weather is bad, trade fairs etc. We are planning a large ice rink, large enough to have International Ice Hockey matches, Skating competitions and Curling competitions, it would also be able to be used by local schools to train and hopefully elite athletics would come also to train. Wheelchair curling would also be able to be accommodated. It would be an added attraction for the many tourists who come through the 'Strath' as it would give wet weather facilities which is sorely lacking, summer and winter.
To create an environment where sports clubs and sports people of all abilities can become established and supported. To develop sport in the community and encourage involvement in all aspects of sports including spectators, team supporters, and committee members. A building to house a multi-sports hall is a priority, this should be able to be divided into 2 or 3 sections for clubs to use, and could be opened out to have competitions for netball, basketball etc. Many clubs would be able to be formed if facilites were available.
We are also planning a large indoor facility for tennis, this wouldhouse 4 tennis courts and as such, competition could take place, again attracting many people to the Strath. This facility would also be able to be used by the local schools and clubs and would be a marvellous facility for wheelchair tennis and disabled tennis. It should be noted that Aviemore has been earmarked as a hotspot by Tennis Scotland and they are very keen to have indoor tennis in the highlands as there is no indoor tennis centre at present in the Highlands.
